Uchal Festival – Harvest Celebration in Kalash Valley

Immerse yourself in the vibrant Uchal Festival, a colorful harvest celebration of the Kalash people. Explore the scenic mountain valleys of Chitral and Kalash, witness traditional dances, folk songs, and rituals, and connect with the indigenous culture amidst walnut orchards and alpine landscapes.

Day 01 – Arrival in Islamabad

 Meet at Islamabad International Airport and transfer to hotel. Evening welcome dinner with traditional Pashtun cuisine. Overnight stay in Islamabad.

Drive to Dir via Swat Motorway, stopping for photography and refreshments. Evening check-in at hotel, dinner, and rest. Overnight stay in Dir.

 Drive through Lowari Tunnel (10.4 km) to Chitral. Evening visit to Chitral Bazaar and Shahi Mosque. Dinner and overnight stay in Chitral.

 Drive 2.5 hours to Bumburet Valley. Check in at traditional Kalash guesthouse. Evening village walk to explore local architecture and lifestyle. Overnight stay in Kalash Valley.

Two full days experiencing the harvest festival:

  • Traditional dances and folk songs

  • Ceremonial processions and offerings

  • Locals in colorful robes, beads, and headdresses

Cultural interaction and visits to Kalash Museum
Evening bonfires with music and storytelling.

Overnight stays in Kalash Valley.

Return to Chitral. Visit Chitral Fort and Museum. Optional walk by Chitral River. Dinner and overnight stay in Chitral.

Drive back to Islamabad with scenic stops for lunch and photography. Evening farewell dinner at a traditional restaurant. Overnight stay in Islamabad.

Breakfast at hotel. Free time for shopping or relaxation. Transfer to Islamabad International Airport for onward departure.

  • Immoral conduct or misbehavior with organizers, team members, or participants is strictly prohibited.

  • Smoking in the transport vehicle is strictly not allowed under any circumstances.

  • Females should be given special respect and privacy at all times.

  • Local norms and traditions must always be respected.

  • Members will be held accountable for any litter they produce. Please act responsibly and show signs of being educated.

  • Environmental care is mandatory. No garbage should be disposed of irresponsibly. Keep wrappers and empty bottles with you and dispose of them properly.

  • For group bookings, payment will be collected based on the number of people confirmed by the group’s focal person.

  • Anyone unable to attend the trip will still be charged in full.
