Multan is known as the ‘City of Pirs and Shrines’, and is a prosperous city of bazaars, mosques and superbly designed tombs. The Multan International Airport connects flights to major cities in Pakistan and to cities in the Persian Gulf. The old city has narrow colorful bazaars full of local handicrafts and narrow winding lanes. Multan is widely famousย for its spiritual capacities being the home of revered saints and men of God. Their shrines have carved out a special niche in the city attracting a large number of devotees all year round.
Pir Shah Shamsuddin Sabzwari Multaniย (died 1276ย C.E) was aย Muslimย Pirย fromย Sabzewarย in present-dayย Iran. Shamsuddin Sabzwari arrived inย Multanย in early 1200C.E.ย in modernย Pakistan, established aย dargahย and preachedย Islamย to the local population. Shamsuddin Sabzwari is considered to be a saint due to his poetry and the local traditions.ย Shamsuddin Sabzwari died in 1276 and hisย mausoleumย is located in Multan. This mosque, famously know as Abbasi Mosque, appears to be a pearl in desert. located close to Derawar Fort in Cholistan Desert, was built by Nawab Bahawal Khan in 1849. It was built like the Shah Jahani Masjid in Delhi, using the same construction materials. Abbasi Mosque features a 16-feet-wide, 128-feet-long hall, three domes, and two minarets. Historically, the main entrance housed servants’ quarters and the lower portion comprised a hostel and a library. It has a capacity to hold 10,000 worshippers.
Derawar Fort is a fortress in Ahmadpur East Tehsil of Bahawalpur District in the Punjab, Pakistan. Approximately 20 km south of the city of Ahmedpur East, the forty bastions of Derawar are visible for many miles in the Cholistan Desert. The walls have a perimeter of 1500 meters and stand up to thirty meters high.

Lal Suhanra is a national park of Pakistan situated in Bahawalpur district of Punjab province, which is one of the largest nationalโs parks in South Asia. Lal Sohanra is spread over 162568 acres and is notable for theย diversity of its landscape, which includes areas of desert, forest and wetland.

The Noor Mahal is a Pakistan Army-owned palace in Bahawalpur, Punjab, Pakistan. It was built in 1872 like an Italian chateau on neoclassical lines, at a time when modernism had set in. this palace is immensely beautiful with high, colorful and tastefully decorated ceilings with massive chandeliers, aesthetically marbled, tiled floors and spacious halls. It’s a majestic work of architecture that would attract any history loving travelers to.
Day 3:
Ahmadpur Sharqiya Tehsil of Bahawalpur, there is an old royal graveyard of the Abbasi Nawab family where graves of Abbasi Nawab family heads have been created in a big hall. In contrast, mausoleums have been constructed for wives of Nawabs. The mausoleums of foreign wives are made of white marble, while the tombs of spouses belonging to local and Abbasi Nawab families have beautiful carvings according to the region’s culture, which distinguishes them from other tombs.
The Tomb of Bibi Jawindi is one of the five monuments in Uch Sharif, Punjab, Pakistan, that are on the tentative list of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
The Panjnad River is formed by successive confluence or merger of the five rivers of the Punjab, namelyย Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi, Beas and Sutlej. Jhelum and Ravi join Chenab, Beas joins Sutlej, and then Sutlej and Chenab join to form Panjnad, 10 miles north of Uch Sharif in Muzaffar Garh district.
