Qila Rohtas, Next to his defeat of the Mughal emperor Humayun in 1541, Sher Shah Suri built a strong fortified complex at Rohtas, a strategic site in the north of what is now Pakistan. It was never taken by storm and has survived intact to the present day. The main fortifications consist of the massive walls, which extend for more than 4 km; they are lined with bastions and pierced by monumental gateways. Rohtas Fort, also called Qila Rohtas, is an exceptional example of early Muslim military architecture in Central and South Asia.
The Mangla Dam is a multipurpose dam situated on the Jhelum River in the Mirpur District of Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. It is the sixth-largest dam in the world. The village of Mangla, which sits at the mouth of the dam, serves as its namesake
It is a 16th-century fort built by Kashmiri rulers of that time. It was built to defend the outposts on the Jhelum River crossing. It is covered with water from three sides and is only accessible through Kashmir by land. It is considered as a military strategistās masterpiece of its time. Its main gate can only be accessed through a path that winds along a steep cliff, with water on one side and the high fort walls on the other. Moreover, it has a mighty water tank inside, probably was designed for siege warfare protection. Because of its height, the views from it are breathtaking.
Rohtas Fort is a 16th-century fortress located near the city of Dina in Jhelum district of the Punjab province of Pakistan. Raja Todar Mal, the minister of the Afghan king Sher Shah Suri, supervised the construction of the fort, which is now one of the largest and most formidable in Punjab.
The fort is known for its large defensive walls, and several monumental gateways. Rohtas Fort was inscribed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1997 for being an “exceptional example of the Muslim military architecture of Central and South Asia.
